What a stunning colour Autumn here in Argyll. Lucky for the x9 Glasgow Art Team to be drawing and painting outside in this. Working them hard up hills, by loch sides, perched on pontoons in the calmest sea and seaweed to look at Autumn greens, these zesty mustards and olives dipped in orange rusts. I like to teach through sensation but boy you couldn’t get a better light than this, it pushed our colours and all in the dry. Apart from mixing jam jars of green indoors, (forget last year’s grey) we were outdoors all weekend; pure experience. Again, we never did this in Art College.
