Art Class: springmix 9

Inside Kirsty’s polytunnel due to threatening cloud and despite midges! It was so cosily warm in there. What a lot of things growing compared to my vegie patch. The beautiful even grey light made the greens and beetroot radish reds sing, but chalk sketches lacked form due to no obvious light source, lack of dark tones, curious to see.

Whilst there I decided we’d stay for an hour of live duck drawing by the pond, a new experience not to be missed; our first introduction to life drawing, the girls sighed! Not easy to look and draw form on the move, forget outline, look at shape and movement. The ducks all left when they’d eaten enough food. A good start, I know it wasn’t as cosy as inside the polytunnel.
