Introducing my PLASTIC SEA fish stall at SAMS with Festival of the Sea in Oban. Fresh Daily Catch: selling books, postcards, sarongs, talks, creative workshops TO SAY NO TO PLASTIC SEA. Been 8 years since I promoted LETSGOTOTHEBEACH to raise awareness for plastic sea trash. This time I didn’t have to tell the story; everyone knew about plastics in our waters. Funny? Shocking.

Launching my SEASHOREART/PLAY paper! Did you know the UK has the 3rd longest coastline in Europe? Did you know most primary schools don’t have art teachers?

Aimed for every child in every primary school nationwide, for families at home, on holiday, for you.
Artwareness: Engage with play: Championing our seas: Recycle me! No:1 in a series
Almost sold all my Crowdfunded Letsgotothebeach sarongs to the sailors at The World Clipper Race in Oban. SWIM, the Rainbow Beach Clean Design sold out first. OCEAN, Blues, second. My favourite is SPLASH! beach clean design of plastic bottle tops collected along my local west coast scotland’s beaches.

Big FUN to see the sand trays and plastic sea trash busily, inventively used all day long by young families. Creative activity using SEASHOREART/PLAY paper as inspiration. The kids wouldn’t stop drawing in sand, feeling, printing shapes, making pictures! What do you see?

I was so inspired by the kids creations!

The dads said they couldn’t draw in sand, they ‘weren’t creative’… so I asked what they did, what they liked… the Engineer dad liked racing cars and F1…so I gave him a couple of bits and said go for it.. what an inventive racing car! His sons loved seeing him play in the sand too. The kids had no inhibitions. The babies loved wiggling their toes in the sand.

A beautiful warm windy day for The Round the World Clipper Race. My sarongs kept flying away!

I’ve been collecting plastics here on the Scottish west coast for over 20 years; I always make with the thrown away.
I found a great colour collection of fishing crates and boxes, connected with re-useable cable ties to simple wood posts to make a portable fish stall for any event. Re-using old acrylic sheets to cover collections of plastic colours, bottles, fishes! Just fits in the car.

Useful display boxes.
